“I will be so happy when many people want to emulate this program since the more the incubators are manufactured, the more the babies will be saved.”
Prof. Dr. Ir. Raldi Artono Koestoer, DEA.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Raldi Artono Koestoer DEA is a Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia. His teaching career began in 1979. Now, he is still actively teaching courses in Measurement and Metrology and Engineering Ethics. The results of his research on baby incubators at the UI Faculty of Engineering are now widely known, very useful, and mass-produced. He won the Best UI Lecturer Runner-up (1995), UI Best Researcher Runner-up (1988), UI Best Researcher Runner-up (1990), and Third Place UI Research Competition (1989).
His scientific publications include: Combustion Study of Non-Carbonized Coal Briquette, Hydraulics Transport of Mud Slurry Flows in a Spiral Pipe, Research and Development of infant incubator business, Development of broiler compartment heating system (DOC) using an insulated burner, Effect of heat transfer coefficient fluid convection of water suspended nanoparticles (A12O3) in a fin-tube heat exchanger, Utilization of two-story Peltier elements in the application of vaccine boxes, Increase in film condensation heat transfer coefficient in a vertical cylindrical condenser with nanofluid A12O3 – water as cooling fluid, Exergy Analysis of Steam Power Plant Performance By Utilizing Thermal Waste to Electrical Energy, Determination of Flow Properties of Mud Slurry, Analysis of cooling and heating performance of a delta box based on Peltier elements as heat pumps and others.
Despite his busy schedule as a lecturer, he likes music and often performs with The Professor Band (as a flute player and vocalist) and Band Deproftek (as a songwriter). This famous humorous lecturer broke the image of a professor who seemed “fierce” and “grumpy.” From his marriage to Harlina Alwi, he has two children, namely Wahyu Perdhana and Lulu Safira.
