Prof. Dr. Ir. Bambang Sugiarto M.Eng is a Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia. Born in Jakarta on July 13, 1961. Bangsugi, or BSG, is usually called in the UI Mechanical Engineering Department because many teaching staff is named “Bambang.”

Research and study activities began with funding from a study on the profile of Pertamina’s lubricant products (1995) and research funds from the Osaka Gas foundation (1995). BIOFUEL research was started in 2000, followed by BIOADITIVE (2004) and BIOGASOLINE (2006). In 2006 the studies on the master plan policy for gas stations from the DKI City Planning Service were re-started.

His teaching career started in 1986. He is still actively teaching at the Department of Mechanical Engineering. From his marriage to Risqa Rina Darwita, he has one child, Hana Witsqa, who followed in his footsteps, studying at the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia.
